Official House Construction

This week we kicked off official construction on the house.  The plan is to extend the east part of the house and add a office on the first floor and a master bathroom and master closet above it on the second floor.  We're also going to combine the kitchen and the current dining room and make it all one kitchen.  The first step to the construction is adding piers to the current stone foundation to correct settlement.  Here are some photos of the progress of the holes dug under the house.  They need to pour the concrete piers and then level the house.  They plan to be done by the end of the week.

We also began demo on the dining room.  And when I say "we", I really mean "Dan".  He surprised me the other day with completing all of this while I was out of  the house.
