One of the depressing moments before the move was when I realized that my closet was going from this:
To something like this: (This is actually Dan’s closet because I never took any “before” pictures of mine. However, the size is the same with the only exception being that I had shelves and no clothes bars.)
I told Dan that it had to be fixed, but I could tell it wasn’t a priority of his. He obviously didn’t understand how important a girl’s closet is. So I took the project on as my own and am quite proud of how it turned out. The main change was that I installed two clothes bars, one for tops and one for bottoms. It took a little bit of effort, because I had to locate the wall studs, then install long rectangle boards to mount the clothes bars to and then finally mount the clothes bars. However, it only took about 30 minutes and it was complete. Then I put all of my t-shirts on the back shelf (yes I know there are a lot), my shoes and clothes and…
With the addition of the two rods I basically have about the same amount of storage as my last closet, except that everything is now much more compact. It’s a little tricky to reach in and get my shoes from the back of the closet, but at least they are all together and neatly placed.
On a side note, Dan now wants his closet to look like mine so he has room for all of his clothes…
