Yes, we're still working on the bathroom, but it has come a long way since my last post. We have finished almost all of the tile, installed the toilet, bath, shower and sink and the majority of the trim. Still on the list is to finish the tile in front of the tub, some trim work, grout in the shower fixtures and lots of touch ups. We worked night and day to get it ready to be inspected before our permit expired at the end of September. After meeting that deadline, we've been working on it very little and enjoying a few other things around here.
Dan surprised me with an Amazing Race 30th Birthday. We were divided into teams of 4-5 and ran around downtown Kansas City in a similar fashion to the television show. He also surprised me with several out of town guests that I was not expecting at all. It was the perfect birthday!
The weekend after my birthday Dan went on a trip with his college friends to Michigan. He didn't have much to report other than he had fun.
And most recently our time has been taken up with Royals baseball. The Royals are in the playoffs for the first time in 29 years and the whole city is excited. Almost every game has gone into extra innings and we've gotten very little sleep in the last few weeks, but it's been completely worth it. Even Dan is excited for the Royals, although his true alliance is still with the Cardinals. If they both end up in World Series the Bailey household will be getting pretty tense.
As a final b-day present from Dan, I got to go to the first playoff game with Loom and the game ended up being one of the best baseball games of all time. This photo was taken right after we won the Wildcard in the 12th inning, which explains why we look ridiculously happy.
