It has been a long week, but we successfully moved all of the pavers to our house. Every night between 5 pm and 8 pm, we would move pavers and stack them on the pallets. As I mentioned last week, we bought these pavers from the house behind us, but due to the location of the pavers there wasn't an easy way for us to get them from their backyard to ours. The process involved us filling 5-gallon buckets full and carrying them from their backyard to their front driveway where we had our truck parked. We'd then pour the pavers from our buckets into 50-gallon tubs sitting in our truck. After filling three tubs, the truck would be full and we'd drive it around the block to our house. Once at our house, we'd unload one tub at a time onto two furniture dollies and roll them around the back of the house to the patio. We'd then unload the pavers onto pallets and wrap them with shrink wrap. We ended up with nine pallets total.
To answer your question, "yes" it is definitely worth it. We bought all of these pavers for $250. If we were to buy these from Lowe's or Home Depot we'd end up paying $1500 to $2000, and we'd still have to figure out a way to move them from the store to our back patio.
Although we are quite relieved to have moved the pile of pavers we purchased, we are still short approximately 500 square feet. We will probably we able to buy more from the same neighbor, but that means more buckets of pavers need to be hauled. For now we are just relieved we've managed to move as many as we have.
Garage Update: The builder has continued to make progress on the garage. This past week, they completed the concrete foundations walls.
